This slimy beast has people puzzled as to whether it’s a dragon or a demogorgon

Buckle up kids, it’s time for some weird animal news.

Some photos from a research fieldtrip have got the internet all confused as to what the researchers found.

Cue wild pop-culture speculation. Some identified the beastie as a dragon.

But for others, this animal was altogether STRANGER…

And then from the left field came Monsters Inc.

Another member of the research team clarified what the slimy fella actually was.

Demogordon. Is that like a Scottish demogorgon? Either way, a Hellbender is a kind of giant salamander, also known as a “snot otter” or “lasagna lizard.”

Maybe with all this press the Hellbender will finally get the attention it deserves. You do you lasagna lizard, you do you.
