The Blacklist Season 4 finale finally made it official: Red Reddington is Liz Keen’s father, and now that the show has provided the answer to that central mystery, the real fun can begin.

“Fun” is definitely the first word that springs to mind when watching this exclusive first look at the Season 5 premiere, which sees a surprisingly carefree Red attempting to rebuild his criminal empire, while Liz struggles to balance her role as an FBI agent with the temptation to act on her more criminal instincts.

As star Megan Boone points out in our sneak peek, this definitely seems to be a case of “like father, like daughter,” and the show will never be the same again.

The Blacklist Season 5 debuts Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
