Someone tell the GOP all the old white men yelling about Kavanaugh isn’t cute

Breaking: Old white guys are yelling on TV again.

Republican senators (yes, them) gathered on Capitol Hill to make individual statements about the FBI investigation into Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. During the press conference, the group of overwhelmingly old white men ranted about the “public circus-like atmosphere” and called the hearings about Kavanaugh allegedly sexually assaulting Dr. Christine Blasey Ford a “search and destroy mission.”

There was little mention of holding assaulters accountable for their actions.

Meanwhile, Twitter users criticized the way the press conference looked, given its subject matter: After all, it’s not a great look when a group of guys continues to aggressively push for an accused sexual assaulter to land a spot on a Supreme Court which, by the way, has the power to limit women’s rights.

While they defended Kavanaugh — despite multiple allegations of sexual misconduct — protestors chanted outside.

Twitter users pointed out just how far removed the GOP senators appeared to be from their constituents.

You can watch the full conference here. Outside, protestors — including Amy Schumer and Emily Ratajkowski — were arrested during their demonstrations.
