People are livid at Twitter for banning Rose McGowan after her Weinstein-related tweets
Rose McGowan’s 12-hour long Twitter suspension has left people scratching their heads and shaking their fists at Twitter.
The actress has been critical this week of Harvey Weinstein and Ben Affleck amidst sexual assault and harassment allegations, and McGowan expressed her frustration with Hollywood, and those like Weinstein, through tweeting.
While it’s not clear which tweet specifically got her suspended, McGowan’s timeline shows a bevy of tweets discussing Bob Weinstein (brother to Harvey), Affleck, and calling out those who knew about Harvey’s deplorable actions.
Since her unexpected suspension, people have raised their voices on the social media network in support of McGowan—speculating that the reasoning behind her suspension has a lot to do with McGowan being a woman on a platform that has a history of users abusing women.
Many have condemned Twitter for not taking action against those who are seemingly more guilty of online bullying, like Donald Trump or neo-nazis. Instead, the social media network has gone after the Charmed actress, and by proxy, those who speak up against sexual assault. This makes the likelihood of women speaking out even more abysmal for fear of suspension or removal from Twitter.
Twitter suspended Rose McGowan and just slapped every sexual assault survivor right in the face. Fuck the world.

If anyone finds out what Rose McGowan tweeted that got her account locked, we should ALL tweet the same thing. Can’t suspend 1000s of users.

Twitter suspended Rose McGowan. It’s forces like these that allowed predator Harvey Weinstein to perpetuate his actions for 30 years.

Rose McGowan speaks against sexual assault: Suspended
Ben Affleck admits to sexual assault: No action
THIS is why women don’t come forward

I woke up to news that Rose McGowan was suspended from Twitter for speaking out against Sexual Harassment. Meanwhile, President Trump spews hate via his Twitter account every day and Twitter doesn’t care. Why is Twitter continuing to be complicit with Trump’s hate speech?
