Move over blue/black dress, we demand to know what colour these shoes are

It’s the “blue dress” debate from 2015 all over again.

A picture of a pair of Vans sneakers is buzzing throughout social media, because people can’t decide if they’re grey with teal laces, or pink with white laces.

If you look at the hand and the rest of the greenish cast on the photo, it’s obvious that the picture has an unnatural tinge that’s altering its appearance.

Still, even knowing that, it looks grey-and-green to me. (For the record, at least half of the office thinks it’s pink-and-white, so this fight isn’t over yet.)

People seem pretty convinced of what they see:

For some, the colours literally shifted before their eyes:

Here’s the picture with its colour balance tonally corrected.

That’s a pink shoe right there.

For what it’s worth, the dress that appeared blue-and-black to some, yet gold-and-white to others, turned out to be conclusively blue-and-black. It didn’t stop the debate from raging on, though.
