It’s officially October and what better way to celebrate Halloween than putting up an enormous Christmas tree two months early.
“All I Want For Christmas Is You” singer, Mariah Carey, was seen on Good Morning Britain for a live interview to promote her UK Christmas tour in December. But the decorated fir tree behind her, just a week and some change after summer ended, took the spotlight.
In only Carey fashion, the Grammy award-winning songstress was awkwardly spread out on a chaise lounge throughout the segment.
While some viewers were confused about the tree in the background, others seemed to come to her defense.
Carey may be dubbed the queen of Christmas, but we think she might be a little obsessed.
The segment received backlash, however, aimed at the hosts, Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid.
Viewers of the show criticized the pre-booked segment as “inappropriate” when Morgan asked the singer about the tragic Las Vegas shootings that occurred on Sunday at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival featuring country music star, Jason Aldean.
According to The Independent, Morgan questioned Carey’s reaction to the incident: “What is your reaction, just on a human level, to concert goers, fans of music, people who love performers like yourself, who have paid money to watch people perform on stage being targeted… Just your reaction on a human level to people that enjoy music being targeted in this way.”
The 47-year-old superstar, blind-sided by the question, responded in the only way she knew how: “It’s terrible because people are just going out to listen to music and that’s what they want to do. Really, they’re out for the night and something shocking like this happens and nobody could have expected it. It’s just wrong. I don’t really know what to say.”
Many viewers were disturbed by the interview and expressed their outrage on Twitter.
Give Mariah Carey a break. She was on GMB to discuss a Christmas tour not the Las Vegas shooting. It’s not her fault she was blind-sided.

Carey has since shared her thoughts and prayers on Twitter for the victims of the incident.
Morgan has also voiced his opinion via Twitter of the interview.
According to Clark County sheriff, Joe Lombardo, police have identified the suspected gunman as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, of Mesquite, Nevada.
He was found dead on the 32nd floor of the Manadaly Bay hotel.
