Low-Cost Microsoft Surface Model Ready to Launch
Microsoft is expected to take the wraps off a low-cost Surface model later this year, and judging from some recent findings, the device might be just around the corner.
German site WinFuture has spotted an FCC filing of what appears to be a low-powered charger presumably used for a more affordable Surface model, indicating that Microsoft has already finalized the design and is ready to unveil the product sometime very soon.
The new Surface model could feature a 10-inch display and be specifically positioned as a rival to Apple’s cheaper iPads. It would be particularly aimed at schools and teachers, but consumers around the world will be allowed to purchase it as well.
The low-cost Surface wouldn’t boast all the premium features of more expensive Surface models but would still run full Windows 10 and offer Win32 app support. A new range of accessories, like cheaper keyboar… (read more)
