Literally every single rumour about the Queen’s ’emergency meeting’ at the palace
The internet is in a frenzy of wild rumours and speculation ahead of an “all-staff” meeting at Buckingham Palace.
The rumours appear to have begun when the Daily Mail published an article overnight stating the Queen had called her “entire household” to a “‘highly unusual’ emergency meeting.”
Rumours swirled about potential reasons for the meeting being called; the death of Prince Philip, the death of Prince Charles, the death of the Queen’s beloved corgis, to name but a few.
Here are some of the most outlandish rumours and speculation about the meeting.
Prince Philip is dead
Hours after the Mail‘s report, a website called Royal Central published an article stating that “French media” were “reporting Prince Philip has died at the age of 95”, but didn’t specify the source of the reports. People on Twitter were quick to point out that those “reports” didn’t seem to exist.

According to a BBC report, Buckingham Palace has confirmed the meeting is not anything to be worried about and is “not about health of Queen or Prince Philip.” Panic over.
Prince Charles is dead
A rumour that Prince Charles had passed away began when a woman tweeted she’d “overheard a man say Prince Charles might have passed away”. Definitely sounds legit.
People on Twitter were adamant that somebody in the Royal Family had passed away, and that the meeting was not about an abdication or pregnancy.

A rumour that people on Twitter were keen to disprove.

As Brits awoke to the false reports of Royal deaths, the speculation took a turn for the comical. And, naturally, the rumours got wilder and funnier.
