Here’s the one reason everyone is going to miss Sean Spicer

Sean Spicer is the White House Press Secretary … for now.

Reports have been swirling that Spicer is not only leaving his place at the briefing room podium, but also currently in search of his own replacement (ouch) on the communications team.

After everyone got wind that Spicer may be on the way out, the world got to thinking: what would a Spicer-less White House would look like? And it turns out, there is one big thing that will make everyone very sad.

While Spicer made us all yell “WTF?” a few times, he also inspired something truly magnificent and irreplaceable, something everyone will miss dearly: Melissa McCarthy‘s Spicey SNL sketches.

Since McCarthy first assumed the role of Spicer back in February, she has brightened our weekends by bearing an uncanny resemblance to the press secretary and recreating, spot-on, his mannerisms. And though the real Sean Spicer will reportedly receive some sort of promotion, the Twittersphere fears that if Spicer retires from the public eye, the Spicer impressions will also leave.

As of right now, several reports suggest Fox News contributor Laura Ingraham could be set to replace the press secretary, but many feel the only logical thing to do is for Spicer to replace himself with Melissa McCarthy as Spicer. This makes sense.

For now, let’s hope McCarthy at least gives America the sketches it wants this Saturday night.

And if the day does come when SNL’s press secretary Spicey does move into the shadows, let us all have a moment of silence for the loss of one truly great impression.
