‘Grimes’s boyfriend’ Chrome extension will help you remember who ‘Elon Musk’ is
As we all know in the wake of Monday’s Met Gala, Grimes is dating a man named “Elon Musk,” who appears to be some kind of science-y business bro.
Of course, it’s hard to keep track of celebrities these days, and there’s simply not enough room in the human brain to remember celebrities and their partners. That’s where this helpful Chrome extension comes in. Once installed, it will replace all instances of “Elon Musk” with “Grimes’s boyfriend,” which will help you remember that Elon Musk exists.
It’s always good to think of people in terms of who they are dating!
As Newsweek reported, the Chrome extension was created by 24-year-old James Bartholomeou, who was inspired by this good tweet from The Verge’s managing editor, T.C. Sottek.
Bartholomeao plans to add an update that will change even more men’s names to “[Female celebrity’s] boyfriend/husband/partner.” For example, Ryan Reynolds would become “Blake Lively’s husband,” and Canadian figure skater Scott Moir would become “Definitely Tessa Virtue’s lover.” (Sorry, we are still not over them.)
A lot of the time, you see celebrity/famous women referred to by their husbands names. I’m now adding to the addon to make it so that celebrity men are referred to by their spouses names.
George Clooney is now “Amal Clooney’s Husband” for example.

Since we love to make the internet even more confusing for ourselves, we downloaded the Chrome extension for a lil test run. Will we keep it forever? No. The risk of New York Times-esque “snake people” errors is too great.
But was it worth it to see this? Yes.
We didn’t follow him, though. We will just keep following Grimes instead.
