‘French Banksy’ portrait on the U.S.-Mexico border is a heartbreaking comment on DACA

They say art can change the world, and certainly street artists like Banksy are doing their best for that purpose.

In light of Donald Trump’s to get rid of the DACA program, which protects children of illegal immigrants in the U.S. from being deported, French artist and photographer JR took action.

He travelled to the Mexican side of the U.S.-Mexico border and started working on one of his signature, supersized photographs:

The result is incredibly heart-warming and inspiring:

A gigantic picture of a child overlooks the border, touching our hearts just like real, vigorous art can do:

Nicknamed “the French Banksy”, JR started his career by taking pictures of his friends and the residents of Les Bosquets — a difficult neighborhood in Clichy-sous-Bois, a few miles outside of Paris — and then pasting them supersized on the neighrbouhood’s walls.

He rose to fame after the riots of 2005, travelling the world with his large-scale portraits.
