Two tennis players who had only ever met as rivals on the pitch struck up an awesome friendship last week, thanks to the first-ever Laver Cup — a new tennis competition that pitches six European players against six players from the rest of the world.
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal played doubles together for the very first time during the competition, and the excitement was palpable.
The pair lived up to dream-team expectations, winning their doubles match and posting cute selfies together.
They pulled off some pretty nifty moves in the process.
And the companionship wasn’t restricted to the doubles pitch — Nadal was on absolute tenterhooks during Federer’s singles match against Nick Kyrgios.
And then of course there was the moment when Federer won said match…
So a big well done to Fedal (geddit?) and the rest of team Europe — could this be a beginning of something beautiful?
Buddy cop show. Just gonna throw that out there.
