Fans aren’t letting a lack of Rihanna’s Body Lava stop them from trying it out

The demand for Fenty Beauty products is high and with good reason: Rihanna is amazing.

When teasing her new Body Lava — which according to the Fenty website is “a limited-edition gel-based body luminizer” — Rihanna posted this sultry video demonstrating the product on her shoulder.

After squirting out the shimmering liquid, Rihanna takes a pastel powder puff and rubs it in, flashing a sweet smile at the camera.

Unable to procure some Body Lava of their own, fans were determined to recreate the video in a more DIY fashion, using interesting substitutes for the Body Lava and the brush.

Results vary.

These videos provide budget-friendly alternatives for those unwilling to shell out $59 for body-shimmering goodness. Don’t have a fancy powder brush? A toothbrush definitely comes in handy.

The videos aren’t complete without intense eye-contact and coy smiles. #WorkIt.

If you don’t have access to brooms or toothbrushes, you can always find an even more creative method and use some socks.

Or if one liquid doesn’t give the same effect, you can always add some more. And more.

This dude took a more, uh, edible approach and used ketchup and a potato.

With the inspiration of Rihanna and the power of creativity, these fan vids give us some hilarious and yet still glamorous alternatives for Body Lava.

Maybe the next Fenty product will incorporate some of these DIY methods.
