Behold Kermit the Frog’s genius artistic interpretation of Solange’s ‘Cranes in the Sky’
Kermit is a frog of many talents. And he can now add interpretive dance to his resume wth his artistic rendition of Solange’s Grammy-award-winning single “Cranes in the Sky“.
In what is perhaps the greatest Twitter thread of all time, Twitter user @jiljilec posted images of Kermit living out the lyrics to the song. In fact, this rendition was so impressive that Solange responded to @jiljilec, stating she was “legit crying”.
The question remains: is Kermit’s interpretation of the song about his breakup with Miss Piggy? It certainly seems to be.
The thread opens at the very beginning of the song, with the line “I tried to drink it away”.
Next you see Kermit trying to “put one in the air”.
Kermit tried to “dance it away” by dabbing.
We see Kermit attempting various methods to distract himself from sadness, like changing his hair.
Sorting out his personal finances.
Wearing a new dress.
Throwing himself into work.
Sadly, just like Solange, Kermit ended up feeling even sadder.
He kept on trying, though.
Kermit seemed to make some progress after awhile.
Of course, no version of “Cranes in the Sky” would be complete without a rendition of Solange’s dulcet tones singing “away, away, away”.
It didn’t end there, though. And, it looks like Kermit’s sadness wasn’t quite gone.
Despite moving ’round, Kermit’s heartbreak was just as present as before.
Kermit tried writing it away.
Poor thing even tried crying it away.
Kermit deserves a standing ovation.
