A Kickstarter campaign called Snorelax is determined to solve the snoring problem for good

Do you snore? Or do you (try to) sleep next to someone who does?

Either way, you aren’t alone. The National Sleep Foundation has determined that approximately 90 million American adults snore – 37 million on a regular basis. And some 64 percent of people say that their partner snores.

While snoring can create obvious issues like keeping those around you awake, it can also have some not-as-obvious side effects.

Studies show that about one-half of people who snore loudly have obstructive sleep apnea, a disorder where breathing is briefly and repeatedly interrupted during sleep.

These pauses in sleep duration can cause issues like daytime fatigue, irritability, and headaches or even heart complications, memory loss, and neurological issues if gone unchecked.

And for people with a partner who snores, one thing is for certain: earplugs, nose strips, and even gently jostling is on the table.

Currently seeking funding on Kickstarter, Snorelax (not to be confused with the Pokémon) are  simple adhesive strips that hope to stop snoring before it can even start. Though they haven’t hit the market yet, they seem promising.

Check out their video:

When you’re asleep, snoring is caused by turbulence and vibrations between incoming air and the relaxed floppy tissues lining your throat. Snorelax works by apparently holding your jaw in its normal position so air can pass with ease.

Snorelax is made from 100 percent cotton and are reportedly quick and painless to apply and remove. Just peel and place on both sides of your face when you’re ready for bed. Your sleep (and your partner) will thank you.

If you head over now, you can back the campaign and get a one month supply on Kickstarter for as low as $29. Shipping starts in May 2018.
