A home security camera you can access from an app
Have you ever been home alone watching crime documentaries when suddenly there’s an unexpected knock on the door? You could crawl over to the door, make yourself as small as possible, and peer through the peephole, or you could check who’s there right from the couch. There’s an app (enabled camera) for that.
The Canary Flex Camera is a weatherproof, app-enabled smart camera with a whole host of capabilities that would put James Bond to shame. This cute little gadget has built in night vision, a rechargeable wireless battery, and a 360-degree swivel base. From the app on your phone you can see what’s happening on camera, record video, and contact emergency services with just one click.
You can also set an away status that automatically notifies you of any activity detected. So when that weirdo from across the hall sneaks over to steal your package, you’ll get a push notification. You can even use the built-in speaker to yell at him from anywhere in the world.
Like any good gadget, this camera is totally customizable. Depending on the layout of your entryway, different mounts are available to fit your varied needs. The twist mount lets you swing the camera around a post á la Diddy Kong and comes in a couple of fun colors. If you want to figure out who or what is eating out of your garden you can plant the stake mount right into the ground. Either way, the camera is small enough that you can choose if you want it to be camouflaged or not.
Amazon is currently having a sale on the Canary Flex. No word yet on how to keep your neighbor from stealing this package, though.
